RMA Instruction
Before you return your HDD, please run the SAMSUNG Diagnostic Program. If the defect is confirmed by the SAMSUNG diagnostic program, please follow the directions below
- Please contact and request the RMA(Return Material Authorization) service to your dealer(supplier). Your dealer(supplier) has the RMA responsibility.
- To return for replacement, pack the drive in an anti-static bag (original SAMSUNG box). You must always keep the original box and packing materials for storage or shipping.
- If the drive is improperly packed, it will be returned to you unrepaired through freight collect.
- SAMSUNG is not responsible for :
- Data loss
- Data recovery - SAMSUNG will replace defective drives with a refurbished drive.
- SAMSUNG will inspect the HDD and if its damage was caused by neglect, misuse or other forces outside of SAMSUNG's control, it will be returned unrepaired through freight collect.
[Caution]
If there are addtional characters such as '/SCC' or whatever in the model number, it should be followded each buyer's warranty policy.
Don't stack pallets or store products in high traffic areas.
- Only move pallets which are carefully bound.
- Always inspect pallets for damage prior to use.
Leave drive in static shield bag until ready for use.
- Always open static shield bag by hand.
- Always place drive horizontally on a protected work surface.
- Use padded work surfaces and keep drive away from other objects.
Handle one drive at a time
- Handle drive by HDA (Black metal), never touch the PCBA.
- Do not lay drive on other objects.
- Do not get distracted when handling drive.
Don't bump or drop drive
- Never stack individual disk drives.
- Never force a drive into a system.
- Keep drive away from the edge of your work surface.
Protect drive from static electricity
- Always wear grounded straps when handling drive.
- Use anti-static mats in the workstation.
- Keep a clean workstation.
Don't bump or drop drive
- Return drive in original SAMSUNG packaging.
- Place drive in box interface down.
- Do not place labels on the drive.
