The limited warranty policy written below is applicable to customers of SAMSUNG Electronics(SAMSUNG) Hard Disk Drives (HDD) and may vary depending on the region and country, and the customer's individual jurisdiction.
SAMSUNG is always striving to deliver the best quality service. Those products not purchased at a registered SAMSUNG authorized distributor and retailer will not be covered under the warranty, and any issues with SAMSUNG products provided by a place of business should be brought to the attention of that particular business.
In order to request service on a product or to verify limited warranty coverage information, please refer to the information below. At the time of product verification, those products purchased outside of the local service area may not be accepted warranty service. In this case, the customer should check with the point of purchased for further information.
The length of warranty varies on the region and product, and the customer's individual jurisdiction. For information on each product, the customer should bring the inquiry to their retailer or our website. The customer can also check the length of limited warranty coverage at our website.
SAMSUNG limited warranty policy applies to those products utilized under normal conditions as outlined by the product manual. Defective products will either be repaired or be replaced. SAMSUNG will not render services for those products applicable to the circumstances listed below. SAMSUNG will not be responsible for lost data, and limited warranty supplied by SAMSUNG is not intended for restoration of any lost data. Additionally, any costs incurred while attempting to restore lost data will not be reimbursed by SAMSUNG , it is highly recommended that you backup your data, once your product is received at Samsung, the ownership of the product and all content therein will be transferred to Samsung
- Stolen products and/or products purchased from an outside vendor
- Products used for commercial use (products used for quality testing), damage due to natural disaster, accident, shock, electric shock, products used in high temperature and/or high humidity outside the product specifications
- Products installed improperly, evidence of dismemberment of the product, used as a test product in various settings
- Damage due to mishandling and/or mistreating of product, modification of product, damaged label, and other physical damage(s)
- SAMSUNG may replace defective drives with a recertified drive, this recertified HDD has been tested by the most stringent Samsung test process.

SAMSUNG Electronics does not offer the option to purchase extensions of limited guarantee. When service needs to be requested due to a product defect, the customer should bring the inquiry to their retailer & supplier or request service online. At the time of request, the customer will need to verify the warranty coverage and perform a diagnostic test. The customer will also need to generate a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number. In the case that the customer send without RMA number, it may be returned freight collect with non-repaired
The product must be returned within the warranty period to Samsung Authorized Service Center using a shipping company with a tracking service (i.e. TNT, UPS, DHL, FedEx) packed with good condition pack.It is important that a RMA number is affixed on the outside of each carton. The customer is responsible for the shipping charge incurred to return the product. Please send ONLY the hard drive. Do not send any wires, cables, manuals, extractable cases, or anything else that would be considered valuable to your needs. RMA numbers remain active for 1 month.
Samsung will replace the product with a functionally equivalent product. Samsung will not return your original drive and data recovery is not included
