Emphasizing mobility with 10.1” LED touch screen and award-winning design
SEOUL, South Korea – August 5, 2013 – Samsung Medison, a global leading medical devices company, today announced the launch of UGEO PT60A, the first diagnostic ultrasound device for the Point-of-Care (POC) market. The POC device allows doctors to perform medical diagnoses at or near the site of patient care.|
UGEO PT60A is comprised of Samsung Medison’s latest ultrasound technology, as well as Samsung Electronics’ capabilities in consumer electronics such as mobility and compact design—both of which led to the UGEO PT60A winning the ‘iF Design Award’ in 2013.
The UGEO PT60A is a compactly powerful device that combines highly efficient ultrasound functions for the purpose of POC. These include:
• Needle Mate™ — Enables users to check the real-time location of the injected needle on the screen, increasing accuracy and safety during surgical operations such as anesthesia and nerve block.
Apart from its leading technologies, the UGEO PT60A comes equipped with a 10.1” LED touch-screen with high resolution and an intuitive user interface for time-efficiency and easy handling.
The UGEO PT60A can be widely used in the POC market, which includes areas such as Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Musculoskeletal, Critical Care and Sports Medicine.
“We believe that UGEO PT60A will enter the POC market with great success,” said Soo-in Cho, CEO of Samsung Medison. “Samsung will continue to expand to diverse diagnosis areas by integrating innovative ideas and technologies into medical devices that meet the needs for both medical professionals and patients.”
Samsung showcased the UGEO PT60A for the first time at the 2013 Europe Congress of Radiology in Austria, Vienna from March 3 to March 11.
