Executive Vice President Soo-In Cho was appointed General Manager of the Memory Division of Samsung Electronics' Semiconductor Business in July of 2007. Samsung's Memory Division has been the market leader in the memory industry since 1993, and Samsung currently has number one market share in DRAM, SRAM, NAND Flash, multi-chip package (MCP) and fusion memory.

Mr. Cho joined Samsung Electronics in February 1979, working first in the Semiconductor Research and Development Center as a CMOS logic design engineer. In 1984, he was assigned to the DRAM design team, and has played a key role in Samsung's next-generation DRAM design and development up until the present. In 1994, Mr. Cho led the team responsible for designing the industry's first 256Mb DRAM, leading to his promotion to Vice President that same year. In 1997, Mr. Cho was placed as head of overall DRAM design for Samsung, and in 2000 was promoted to Senior Vice President in charge of all DRAM technology and products, including DDR, Mobile, Graphics and specialty memories. In January of 2007, he was appointed Executive Vice President in charge of memory manufacturing operations, and in July of 2007 was named to his current position as General Manager of the Memory Division.

Mr. Cho holds a B.S. degree from Seoul National University and a M.B.A. from Aju University in Korea. He holds 26 U.S. patents and 26 Korean patents and has 38 papers published in technical journals.
