Title of Law	Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals (New European Community Regulation on Chemicals)
Effect of Law	- Existing regulations on chemical substances in the EU are integrated, so that all chemicals manufactured or imported into the EU in quantities of one ton per year are registered by their quantity and hazard level. ※ All activities are registered, evaluated, and authorized in the European Chemicals Agency database. - All existing and new chemicals coming into use must be registered/reported, or banned from manufacturing/importing into the EU.
Categories of Regulation	- Chemical substances, preparations, articles → Semiconductors are included as articles.
Controlled Substances	- SVHC : Substance of Very High Concern: Persistent, bio-accumulative, and/or toxic substances.
REACH Compliance Timeline	- Supply Information (Oct 28, 2008~) : Articles containing 0.1% or more SVHC must supply information such as substance name, safe handling methods, etc. - Register (June 2008~) : Chemical substances, preparations, substances intentionally released from articles (e.g. printer toner, ink) that are imported into the EU over one ton per year. - Report (2011.06~) : EU manufacturers/importers of articles containing over 0.1% SVHC, manufactured/imported into the EU in quantities of over one ton per year, must report the articles to ECHA.
