Voluntary agreement for energy saving and greenhouse gas reduction
SAMSUNG Electronics' Semiconductor Division does its best to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy use in order to implement the WSC's (World Semiconductor Council's) voluntary PFC agreement, as well as the voluntary agreement for energy saving and greenhouse gas reduction signed with the local government in Kyeonggi province.
SAMSUNG Electronics' Semiconductor Division has eliminated the use of 520,000 tons of CO2 from 2001 to 2008 through energy-saving activities and 5.68 million tons of CO2 from 1997 to 2008, which is equivalent to planting 2 billion trees.
