SAMSUNG Electronics Semiconductor Division is committed to reducing water consumption by recycling and reusing water. The Semiconductor Division has formed a water consumption reduction TFT to analyze all water-consuming facilities in detail, increase the efficiency of water use and introduce a customized water-recycling system. As a result, the Semiconductor Division reduces its water consumption by hundreds of tons every year. In particular, the Semiconductor Division applies a special treatment to water at the wastewater treatment facility and recycles it into ultra-pure water for high-precision manufacturing processes. As a result, the Semiconductor Division reduced water consumption per production by more than 65% compared to 2001 and has reduced input water consumption by 54% in 2008 alone, which has contributed to cost savings, as well as efficient water use and preservation.
