Water Pollution Reduction

SAMSUNG Electronics' Semiconductor Division operates waste water disposal facilities and strictly keeps the emission density of discharged water under 10% of legal criteria. As an environmentally friendly enterprise designated by the Ministry of Environment, we review environmental impacts beginning at the R&D stage for the introduction of new materials, introduce environmentally friendly procedures, and build processing facilities that optimally process water pollutants before discharging them to preserve the ecology of our lakes and rivers.

We are ultimately aiming for a zero-defect water quality management system. Towards this aim, we set up a tele-monitoring system in 2008 to monitor the quality of discharged water, analyze results and report them to local public offices in real-time.
