SAMSUNG Electronics' Semiconductor Division complies with domestic and overseas laws and regulations, implements self-risk assessments and risk prevention activities, and operates various programs for employees' health management in order to create a safe and healthy workplace environment.

• We employ a fire-fighting team 24/7 for an initial quick response in case of emergency. Our business continuity plan is an upgraded version of established emergency plans that includes a recovery plan to minimize damages. Various scenarios are made according to possible contingencies and based on those scenarios, regular training and drills are held.
• As employee health and safety is considered of utmost importance, safety criteria have been set up. When new chemical substances and equipment are introduced, potentially hazardous levels are assessed in advance.
• For employee health management, ergonomics in manufacturing procedures are assessed and a medical clinic is maintained for administering regular medical checkups on all employees. A SHPI (Semiconductor Health Promotion Index) also has been developed based on a comprehensive analysis of the health of all employees. Based on this index, a health management plan for employees is kept.
