SAMSUNG Electronics' Semiconductor Division has in place firefighter teams that will take proactive measures in any emergency situations. The firefighter teams operate at the Giheung and Hwaseong complexes 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They provide not only professional firefighting services, but also undertake educational, promotional and public-support activities.

The teams are equipped with chemical fire trucks, multi-purpose rescue vehicles, emergency waste liquid recovery vehicles and other firefighting vehicles and life-saving equipment. They perform infrared inspections with IR cameras, inspect vulnerable areas, upkeep firefighting facilities in the complexes, train employees from both SAMSUNG and business partners on gas/chemical treatment and emergency response activities, and perform public-support activities in surrounding neighborhoods.

The firefighter teams not only provide in-house fire drills but also public-private fire drills to educate employees on how to escape from fires and respond to emergency patient situations in the early stages (cardiopulmonary resuscitation, etc.) to minimize any possible negative impacts.
