Introduction
Definition
The act of procuring Eco-Product and services Through the procurement of Eco-Product, an enterprise can conform to trade-related environmental regulations, increase environmental accomplishments and customer reliability, and hence, improve the environmental friendliness of the products.
Objective
To meet customer demand for Eco-Product and achieve the greening of the supply network by obtaining environmentally friendly raw subsidiary material.
- Achieve compliance with the European Parliament's Directive on Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) which bans the use of six toxic substances (Pb, Cd, Cr+6, Hg, PBBs, PBDEs) by 2006
- Ban the use of CFC, which damages the ozone layer during the production process

- Step 1 (~'03): design the green procurement system
- Step 2 (~'04): set green procurement methods and ban hazardous substances
- Step 3 ('05~): raise competency through green supply networks

- On-Site Audit: Supplier of materials containing banned substances
- Documentary Audit: Suppliers of materials not containing banned substances

Audit appraisal
- For Suppliers of materials not containing hazardous substances : System part only
- For Suppliers of materials containing hazardous substances :
- System: Eco-administration system
- Operation: Hazardous material management system
- Process: Material/product management
- Additional points are given to suppliers with ISO14001 certification
Audit Results
- Eco partner: to be selected as a preferred supplier for next contract, green procurement document with reduced standards is required
- General supplier: to submit green procurement document for all contracts
