ARM® TechCon 2012: Samsung Exynos Preview
October 18, 2012
ARM® TechCon™ , the premier conference for ARM®-based chip, software and systems design, is just around the corner! Organized and run by Exynos partner company, ARM®, the conference’s packed schedule features keynote speeches, technical training sessions and interactive demos – all revolving around leading-edge ARM® technologies. Get acquainted with what you can expect to see from us at this year’s event, which runs from October 30 through November 1 at the Santa Clara Convention Center, and find out how to keep tabs on the most important announcements.
Chip Design Day
The conference begins on Tuesday, Oct. 30, with a full day devoted to chip design teams working with ARM® IP and tools. Simon Segars, EVP and General Manager of the Processor and Physical IP Divisions for ARM®, will be giving the opening keynote address, “Technologies Shaping Our Future.” Segars’ speech will focus on the latest advancements in processor technology and design, as well as their implications for the future of microprocessors. You’ll learn about the latest achievements in CPU design and gather different perspectives from some of ARM®’s partners.
In the early evening on Tuesday, you’ll find Exynos at a special Android Meetup , which will bring together industry representatives and Silicon Valley Android developers. Samsung will cover its community and development platforms, including multi-core CPUs and advanced GPUs that offer developers expanded capabilities when working on advanced gaming apps and intensive operations.
If you’re attending Chip Design Day, plan ahead and choose the keynotes, training sessions and hands-on labs you’re interested in attending. You’ll have a wide range of options, from courses covering ultra-low power computing and GUI development to ARM® next-generation processing.
Software and Systems Design Days
The second and third days of ARM® TechCon focus on systems designers and software developers. If building modules, community boards and systems based on ARM® processors is your thing, then this portion of the conference is well-suited to your interests. Exynos has some exciting speaking opportunities throughout the day on Wednesday, Oct. 31, including the following:
- Enabling the Super Devices of Tomorrow: An industry address by John Kalkman, VP of Samsung System LSI, focusing on using total system design to enable process technology to keep up with advancements in mobile devices
- A New Era in Mobile Computing with GPU Compute on Exynos: A sponsored technical session led by Seth Bernsen, senior director of Samsung System LSI, centering on the specialized hardware and distributed processing needed for mobile computing platforms to handle increasing workloads
