  • SC2011, November 14-17, 2011 continues a long and successful tradition of engaging the international community in high performance computing, networking, storage and analysis. SC2011 brings together communities to facilitate information exchange, discussions and new collaborations for research and education related to innovating high performance computing applications and advancing scientific discovery and scholarship. The SC11 Exhibit Hall is spread across the 4th and 6th floors of the Washington State Convention Center (WSCC). Included are 135 research exhibitors and 195 industry exhibitors-the largest number to date. Attendance for SC11 is expected to reach 10,000 this year.
Jen-Hsun Huang, NVIDIA co-founder, president and CEO, delivered the SC11 keynote address at the conference this morning. Huang's. He discussed the scientific milestones and challenges facing supercomputing designers as they pursue the advanced computational needs of the future.

  • Overview
  • SC11 is the first year that Samsung has exhibited. Overall, participating in this show represents a good opportunity to expose professionals within the HPC industry (research government and education sectors) to Samsung green memory solutions and to connect our technology to partners that already have industry mindshare, such as IBM. Participation in our booth by IBM and customer meetings with Cray underscore our opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to creating awareness and preference for Samsung memory as an integral part of the HPC eco-system. Future participation to be determined following the show.
Day 1 and 2 were very busy with high traffic flow throughout the show and in our booth. Our in-booth theater presentations attracted on average over 20 people per session.
The Samsung and IBM presentations attracted the most attention. As a result more than 200 people were directly exposed to our Green Memory message delivered through our in booth presentations and demos. Our in booth presentations were delivered by Samsung as well as representatives from two IBM divisions (IBM System X and IBM Power 775), plus Hardcore Computer and Inphi.
