Built on eMMC's Heritage

Samsung Universal Flash Storage(UFS) follows in the footsteps of eMMC while still providing feature advancements that go beyond eMMC. Universal Flash Storage(UFS) still supports eMMC's Security, Data Integrity, Performance Enhancements, Flash Management, and Protocol Enhancement, while utilizing MIPI M-PHY and UniPro standards for physical and link layers. Unlike eMMC, Universal Flash Storage(UFS) is built upon the widely adopted SCSI command set and architecture model, enabling asynchronous operation and command queuing to provide the same high performance found in USB 3.0 and SAS. In addition, Universal Flash Storage(UFS) supports concurrent operation and multi-lane support, features not supported by eMMC.
