recommended upgrade density & module's part number
  • 850E boards limited its maximum density by 1.5G Byte.
  • Please check your board status before you decide to upgrade.
  • The order ( Bank0 , Bank1) can be reversed when you have two pairs of RDRAM Modules.

guideline for upgrading RIMM

When you upgrade with additional RIMMs to the current RIMMS, please confirm the following information

  1. The maximum memory density your mainboard can accommodate
  2. The speed of newly added RIMMs and currently used RIMMs
(The speed can be identifiied from the part number that comes after -, such as CK8, CM8 or CT9.)

When you are adding RIMMs with different speed from the current RIMMs, please refer to the following table and update the mainboard BIOS, if needed.(Updating the mainboard BIOS will adjust the speed difference so that different speed RIMMs will be backward compatible with each other.)
You can get the BIOS update from the board maker or PC maker.
