Samsung Electronics, a global leader in consumer electronics and digital technology, today announced a new range of sleek, compact digital camcorders. Samsung’s new line-up consists of the VP-HMX10C, VP-HMX10, VP-MX10H, VP-MX10AU and VP-MX10, providing consumers with a wide range of easy-to-use, high-performance features and stunning designs.

Samsung’s first HD camcorders, the VP-HMX10C and VP-HMX10, are compact models that deliver amazing HD picture quality resolution, which can be easily viewed on the 2.7-inch high-resolution touch panel LCD screen. Samsung’s 50 fps Progressive technology enables the VP-HMX10C to capture exceptionally detailed videos, recording up to 8 GB of internal flash memory (two hours of recording time), working in H. 264 at 720p or with SDHC/MMC+ cards that extend the recording capacity. Both the VP-HMX10C and VP-HMX10 also boast 10x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom respectively, with both camcorders having a battery life of 90 minutes each. |

The full line-up of Samsung camcorder features advanced Flash Memory technology, which provides a range of benefits such as longer battery life and a three-second QuickStart. They also offer the new iCheck button providing status information on remaining battery time and memory capacity.

The other three models – the VP-MX10H, VP-MX10AU and VP-MX10 – come with Schneider lenses, 34X optical zooms and 800K CCD, 2.7” 112K LCDs. The all work with SDHC / MMC+ cards while VP-MX10AU also record up to 4GB of internal memory.
All five new camcorders were also designed with the consumer in mind and in a way that gives these devices a place next to the TV and PC, not in the closet. They are compact enough to fit in the palm and easy to use with innovative touch screens, yet all this comfort and convenience comes without sacrificing style. The unique Swivel grip – able to rotate an amazing 150 degrees – provides an easy way for consumers not only to hold the camcorder but also to shoot video at very low or high angles.

In addition to their snazzy compact forms, the new line of Samsung camcorders are available in a range of different colors to appeal to a variety of tastes and personalities: The two HD models and the VP-MX10 have a stylish black finish; the VP-MX10H makes a bold statement with a pure white finish; and the VP-MX10AU appeals to fun-loving fashionistas with a funky purple and silver combination
All of the camcorders released today have 3D Noise Reduction Filter technology that helps produce breathtakingly realistic and vivid images. This innovative feature is complemented by the Image Stabilizer feature, which, along with the compact palm-size of each model, stabilizes hand movements during recording.
