Samsung Electronics, the official Worldwide Partner for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in wireless communications equipment, today announced the opening of the SAMSUNG Anycall Olympic Showcase at the Hong Kong International Airport, demonstrating the company's commitment to supporting the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Located at the Departure Hall of the Hong Kong International Airport (Terminal 1), the Olympic Showcase exhibits the latest SAMSUNG Anycall's wireless telecommunications products to domestic and international travelers.

The location of the shop is chosen for its convenience as one of the world's busiest international airports. The shop is renovated with a new retail and exhibition zone in the theme 's telecommunications leaders, Samsung Electronics supports a wide range of international sporting events including the Olympic Games. The company's involvement in the Olympic Games began in 1988 when it became a national sponsor for the Seoul Olympic Games. In 1997, Samsung Electronics signed on as a Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Wireless Communications Equipment category. Samsung also contributed to the Olympic Movement as The Olympic Partner (TOP) for the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games and will continue its contribution in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The new SAMSUNG Anycall Olympic Showcase features the 2008 Olympic Promotional Phones U308 and the Golden Edition P318, launched in partnership with China Mobile, the Official Telecommunications Partner for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. It also showcases the official mobile phones for the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) committee members, the 18K Golden Edition E848 and the L288 TD-SCDMA mobile phones. In addition, the Olympic Showcase also displays different phone categories, namely Ultra, Music, Style, Business and Photography, enabling consumers to imagine and experience how the latest innovative digital telecommunication devices enrich their lives.

To mark this significant event, Samsung has invited Mrs. Carrie Yau, Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs, HKSAR Government; Hon.
