Samsung today introduced its first notebook computer to include the revolutionary Intel Centrino Mobile technology – the Samsung X10, the ideal business tool for fast-paced professionals. Samsung X10 is the world's lightest and thinnest 2-spindle notebook PC. Its high mobility, wireless capability and features designed to enable extended battery life make it the first choice for notebook computer users.
Based on Intel Centrino's advanced mobile technology, Samsung X10 adopts a PentiumR M processor and a chipset and wireless technology from Intel to enhance X10's high performance and mobility. Samsung's X10 adopts the worlds' first and thinnest 9.5mmH DVD/CD RW Combo drive which enables a height of mere 23.8mm for the 2-spindle notebook computer. Even with 14.1" TFT XGA LCD screen, Samsung X10 weighs less than 4 pounds.
Samsung X10's performance is superior to the average P4-M notebook computer. For instance, the performance of the Pentium M 1.6GHz possessor is 20% more powerful than P4-M 2.4GHz, delivering also unparalleled graphic performance. This notebook also adopts the NVIDIA GeForce4 Go 440 (64MB) graphics chip, which supports 4 x AGP and gives X10 some of the highest-end video specifications now available for notebook PCs. Besides, Intel Centrino's mobile technology also extends the battery life of the X10 notebook computer. Samsung's smart Li-Ion standard slim battery provides an average battery life of over 2 hours. An additional option of a long-life battery provides even longer battery life for up to 4 hours and 30 minutes.
The new X10 notebook computer also caters for wireless network communication and digital entertainment. Users can connect various DVDs, VCDs and CDs through the available X10 connections with iEEE1394, Memory Stick and USB 2.0 devices. With DVD and MP3 functions, Samsung X10 is also equipped with S/PDIF audio output supporting 5.1 channels and can serve as a personal home-theatre.
Equipped with a Dual Band Antenna providing excellent wireless connection, Samsung's X10 supports 802.11b wireless LAN and allows users to easily establish connections with other networked computers and truly enjoy the freedom of wireless Internet.
