Samsung Electronics today unveiled its new slider handset, SAMSUNG Anycall D418, at its “Samsung Gate to Paradise” event. D418 is targeted to be released in the Hong Kong market in June. Slide-up handset marks a new breakthrough in Korea handset's history – D418 is an innovative mobile phone with a “style-and-form” factor.
Unlike other SAMSUNG Anycall’s handsets, D418 features a unique sliding faceplate. The soft touch, slide-up architecture of the faceplate allows any user to slide open the outside display with just a gentle push of his thumb.
D418 is the ultimate, glamorous communication tool – reflected by its attractive slide-up design and keypads on the outside, and the high ease-of-use and innovative features inside. In addition to its “pretty face”, D418 is packed with a full range of powerful features, including MMS, tri-band functionality, e-mail, multi-shot function, Java technology, and GPRS (class 8) – thus, D418 is a compact device that is specially-designed for the stylish trendsetters.
D418 equipped with a 300K pixels CMOS digital camera, capable of capturing at 640x480 resolution. With the Multi-Shot function, you can shoot 6, 9, or 15 consecutive shots with one click, and then transfer the photographs via MMS. In addition to CMOS photographs, D418 can also record three 1 minute video clips in motion JPEG format, up to a maximum capacity of 3MB.
D418 weighs 116g and measures 98mm x 48.5mm x 24mm. The handset has a 262,000-color TFD display that measures 176x220 pixels. This wide screen display offers an advanced visual quality – much richer image compared to conventional handset displays.
