Samsung Hong Kong reinforces its commitment to DVD video recording innovation with its 2006 line of four affordable, feature-rich models that also raise the bar for consumer convenience: DVD-R130, DVD-R145, DVD-HR735 and DVD-HR736. With features designed for an enhanced home entertainment experience, users of the new DVD video recorders can now build a personal library of movies, TV shows, home video, and audio – all in high quality format to last a lifetime. Additionally, all four recorders allow users to play back and listen to video in 1.5X high speed with high-speed audio. Users can watch and intelligibly hear 120-minute programs in just 80 minutes.

The ultra-slim (49mm) DVD-R130 is the perfect DVD recorder for consumers' everyday recording needs. DVD-R130 comes with the remarkable quick start-up recording feature, greatly improving the speed when beginning to record to just one second. An auto chapter creator function and a front-access DV-input are just some of the features that make this the most user-friendly DVD recorder on the market.

The 49mm DVD-R145 includes all of the advanced features of the R130 with some notable extras, including multi-format recording of DVD-RAM, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DVD-R Dual Layer, and HDMI™ 1080i output. User convenience is also a key feature of this model, with the Time Slip Recording function being a good example. Time Slip allows viewers to play back recorded content while recording new content. Like the other recorders released this year, the R145 offers the option to play back and listen to recorded video in 1.5X high speed.

Samsung has also released two DVD HDD recorders: DVD-HR735 and DVD-HR736 These models are embedded with HDD of 160GB and 250GB respectively. The huge storage capacity of the HDD recorder gives the freedom to record first and decide what to keep later before transferring to a DVD. Samsung DVD-HR735 and DVD-HR-736 features DivX (MPEG4) Playback, allowing users to play and share their digital videos.
