Samsung, the world's second largest laser printer manufacturer announced the release of two new printer models: the CLX-3160FN, the company’s first compact color laser multifunction printer and an ideal choice for users with demanding print, scan, fax, and copy needs that lack the space for bulky machinery; and the SCX-5530FN, a network-ready multifunction laser printer that offers workhorse performance and flexibility with duplex copying, laser printing, color scanning and high-speed faxing.

The CLX-3160FN: Ultra-compact Multifunction Color Laser Printer and Fax

Due to its high-performance value, coupled with its compact design, the CLX-3160FN printer was named a 2007 CES Innovation Honoree. Ideally suited for the consumer and SOHO markets, it features newly designed compact toner bottles instead of unwieldy traditional cartridges, allowing for a diminutive footprint of only 466 x 429 x 486 mm.

The CLX-3160FN printer further benefits from the same exclusive NO-NOIS™ print engine technology found in Samsung’s high end color laser printers, giving the affordable model quiet operation and simple toner changes.

Weighing only 20.5kg, the CLX-3160FN printer may be compact but it does not compromise on performance; it achieves print speeds up to 17ppm (black and white) and 4ppm (color) in Letter size. The model is not only high-speed -- it also boasts high-quality printing, with a 600 x 600 dpi optical resolution, that can be enhanced up to 2400 dpi, ensuring sharp text and vivid images. It also produces crisp color scans with a 600 x 1200 dpi optical and 4800 x 4800 dpi enhanced CCD color flatbed scanner with an automatic document feeder.

The CLX-3160FN printer offers quick, simple and convenient printing – even without the presence of a PC. It has an easy-to-use PictBridge interface, allowing users to instantly print photos directly from their cameras or phones.

This model also offers a USB interface that allows users to print documents that are saved on USB memory, even in the absence of a PC. Furthermore, the CLX-3160FN printer incorporates a USB direct scan feature that enables users to save scanned documents directly to USB memory, thereby increasing flexibility and saving time.

The SCX-5530FN: Samsung's Latest Network-Ready Multifunction Printer

The SCX-5530FN is easy-to-use and compactly designed with an intuitive interface, informative LCD panel and one-touch buttons that simplify tasks. This product is faster than many multifunction devices in its class with speeds of 30 ppm/cpm and a quick warm-up time (from stand-by mode) with its first page out in less than nine seconds. Not only is this product fast, but it also supplies high-quality, high-resolution documents with 1200 dpi effective output. It produces crisp, color scans with up to 600 x 600 dpi optical and 4800 x 4800 dpi enhanced scanning resolution for capturing photo-quality color and sharp black and white text.

Additionally, the SCX-5530FN is efficient and offers customers a low total cost of ownership with its low HK$0.2 cost per page and one-touch features such as PowerSave, PaperSave, TollSave and TonerSave, which can extend the life of the printer's toner cartridge up to 40 percent.

• Exclusive ID Card Copy - Customers can simply copy the front and back of identification cards such as medical insurance cards or driver's licenses onto the front of a single page.
