Samsung EX2F Compact Digital Camera
F1.4 Extra-large Aperture & Wi-Fi Direct technology
Perfect Combination of Convenience and Professional Performance

Hong Kong – 7 Aug 2012 – Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd announces today the launch of the newest compact camera Samsung EX2F. With a rigid, fashionable magnesium body, Samsung EX2F features an innovative 12.4 megapixel back-illuminated BSI CMOS sensor, and is equipped with Wi-Fi wireless transfer technology and a F1.4 Schneider-KREUZNACH lens, which boasts the largest aperture among all compact cameras. In addition, Samsung EX2F offers a wide range of convenient yet professional functions, making it the best choice for professional users and photography enthusiasts alike.

“We created the EX2F to show that taking great pictures doesn’t have to involve carrying a heavy and bulky DSLR wherever you go. Because the best shots often arise when you least expect them, the EX2F delivers manual control and stunningly bright image quality in a body that is small and light enough to carry around every day. It’s the perfect on-the-road companion for the DSLR user who expects the best image quality with full creative control.” Said Mr. Benny Yu, Product Marketing Director, Consumer Electronics, Samsung Electronics HK Co. Ltd.

Extra-large F1.4 Aperture –Well Adapted to Any Lighting Conditions
Samsung EX2F’s 24mm wide-angle Schneider-KREUZNACH lens with F1.4 extra-large aperture – the largest aperture among all professional compact cameras – can easily create shallow depth of field comparable to those produced by DSLRs, allowing the photographer to isolate the subject from the background for stunning portraits. With a 3.3x optical zoom, a 12.4 megapixel 1/1.7 inch back-illuminated BSI CMOS sensor, and optical and digital image stabilizers, EX2F can also capture detailed images with minimum noise, even in dim environments.

A further development is that the lens unit now consists of 11 elements in 9 groups, with 4 aspherical lenses and 2 high refractive lenses. This impressive lens design can provide a 20% increase in the amount of light reaching the sensor, a 20% increase in image quality and a 10% increase in zoom ratio. The new lens also contains a built-in ND filter, which provides more flexibility on manipulating the aperture and shutter combination so as to create the ideal effect. For instance, the aperture can be fully opened to create a shallow depth of field even in daytime; or slow shutter speeds can be used for special effects.

Professional Manipulations
Deeply knowledgeable about the needs of photography enthusiasts, Samsung has equipped EX2F with comprehensive modes of professional operation, including full manual control as well as aperture and shutter priority modes – all up to users’ choice. In addition, the dual-mode button on the top, the easy-to-follow smart panel user interface and the control wheel on the handgrip all enable users to capture every precise moment by manipulating the configurations more quickly and precisely.

The 3 inch swivel AMOLED display at the back makes shooting at low or high angles or even self-portraits more convenient. Images are displayed at a high resolution and contrast under any condition, fulfilling users’ need whether in reviewing images or finding the best shooting angle.

Samsung EX2F can also record 1080p  Full HD stereo video, and enables photos and videos to be captured simultaneously. Any scene can be shot as both photo and video at a high quality even in poor lighting, thanks to the large aperture lens.

Wi-Fi Direct Easy Share
Samsung EX2F features built-in Wi-Fi wireless transfer technology, which support various Wi-Fi Direct functions. Through a Wi-Fi connection, not only can users upload photos or videos to social media portals like Facebook, Youtube and Weibo directly, but also backup data to a home computer or Microsoft Skydrive cloud storage. Users can also view photos or HD videos on mobile phone, laptop computer or TV without using a cord, or use  MobileLink to transfer photos in their original file size to mobile phones for immediate sharing. The camera also has a Remote Viewfinder function for controlling the camera from a distance.

Apart from its professional features, more creative functions are also incorporated in EX2F, such as panorama shooting, artistic brush effects and magic frame – all wonderful tools for showcasing users’ creativity.

The Wi-Fi technology of Samsung Smart Camera enables users to share photos from the camera anywhere ,anytime.
