Samsung supports Christie’s Spring Auction with its most advanced UHD display technology
Meet the 85” 4K UHD TV S9 at the Auction
Presenting the most breath-taking art pieces
Hong Kong – 25 May 2013 – As Samsung Electronics Hong Kong is dedicated to actively promoting art development through its leading industry technology, Samsung took the opportunity to sponsor six 85-inch 4K UHD TV S9 to the Christie’s Hong Kong 2013 Spring Auction at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre, displaying a variety of priceless artwork with its top-notch image display technology.
Christie’s Hong Kong 2013 Spring Auction, open to public, from May 23rd to May 29th, will be showcasing works of art that will be auctioned off on the 85-inch Samsung 4K UHD TV S9, including Korean artist Kyong Tack Hong’s “Pens I” (estimated HK$6,000,000), French Chinese artist Zhao Wu-Ki’s “24.1.63” (estimated HK$15,000,000) and Chinese artist Sanyu’s signature art piece “Two Standing Nudes” (estimate on request). In addition, Christie’s will be holding the Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art Evening Sale and a Special Selection of Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sales) on May 25 and May 26, respectively. The magnificent 85-inch Samsung 4K UHD TV S9 will also be showing numerous valuable art pieces at that event.
Christie’s will be using the 4K UHD TV for the first time at the 2013 Spring Auction to display valuable art items that will be auctioned off. The Samsung 4K UHD TV S9 comes with a resolution of 3840 x 2160, which is 4 times the resolution of Full HD TVs, plus the capability of up-scaling Full HD visual to 4K UHD resolution using 4K up-scaling technology, delivering detailed and sharp pictures, this highly qualified the UHD TV S9’s ability to display art pieces at its most vivid way possible for guests and bidders.
Featuring the Samsung Precision Black Pro technology, the S9 is able to deliver pictures with deeper, more realistic blacks and purer whites. Together with Micro Dimming Ultimate which intelligently optimizes contrast, colour, and details, the S9 showcases unprecedented picture quality and presents users a detail-rich viewing experience that exceeds Full HD TVs. The design of the speakers in the S9 was inspired by Timeless Gallery exterior designs. The speakers were meticulously crafted to fit inside the bezel of the TV, giving the overall appearance a premium, floating-like look.
On top of it all, the S9 is ready for the future UHD broadcasting standards. Although the standard details are yet to be confirmed, compatibility issues could be easily solved by Smart Evolution Kit upgrade in the future, adding the latest UHD standard support to the S9. This feature, unique to the Samsung 4K UHD TV S9 at this moment, promises users the potential to enjoy the latest future technology.
S9 will be available in Hong Kong for sale by the end of June. Stay tuned.
