My Playstation 2 Is Not As Clear On My LCD TV AS It Is On My Tube TV.Why?

Last Update date : 2012.01.10

Most current Samsung LCD TVs have HD (High Definition) grade screens with 720 or more vertical lines. The image created by your Playstation 2 (and most other game consoles) is not HD, but standard grade, with 480 vertical lines. A picture with 480 vertical lines is appropriate for standard grade tube TVs, but it has to be converted electronically to fit an HD screen. Consequently, when your LCD TV converts the 480 line image to display on its 720 vertical line or higher HD screen, the picture can lose definition and become fuzzy.

Note: You may be able to improve the definition of the picture by attaching your Playstation to either the S-Video or Component inputs on your LCD TV. However, there are no guarantees.
