How To Pin Your Favorite Website To The Start Screen In Windows 8/8.1?

Favorite Websites in Windows 8/8.1


In Windows 8, you can pin your favorite websites to the Start Screen so you can access them with one click. To setup your Start Screen with all your favorite websites, follow the steps below.

IMPORTANT: The steps below use Internet Explorer because only the IE app currently has this functionality.

1. On the Start Screen, click on the Internet Explorer app.

2. Type the name of your favorite website in the address bar and press Enter.

3. Click on the pin icon in the lower right corner.

IMPORTANT: Some websites, that already have an app, cannot be pinned through this method. Under this circumstance you will not see the pin icon. Instead of pinning the website, you can locate the app in the Microsoft App Store.

4. Click on Pin to Start.

5. In the window that appears, type the name you would like to appear into the box.

6. Click Pin to Start.

7. Press the Windows key to go to the Start Screen. Scroll to the right to locate the newly created app.
