Gear Fit2: How do I Measure the Heart Rate?

Last Update date : 2016.12.06

Please follow the steps below to measure your heart rate.

1. Tap Heart rate on the Apps screen

2. Tap Measure to begin measuring your heart rate

After a while, your current heart rate will be displayed on the screen.

3. Tap TAG and select a status tag for your status to the measured heart rate.

The Gear displays information about your heart rate in relation to your selected tag.

• The Gear’s heart rate app is intended for fitness and informational purposes only and is not intended for use in diagnosis of diseases or other conditions, or in the cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of diseases.

• In order to measure your heart rate more accurately with the Gear, please wear the Gear firmly around your lower arm just above the wrist.

Please be aware of the following conditions before measuring your heart rate:

• If you have just purchased the Gear or have reset it, please create your profile.

Rest for 5 minutes before taking measurements

• If the measurement is very different from the expected heart rate, you should rest for 30 minutes and take measurement again.

• During winter or in cold weather, do keep yourself warm when measuring the heart rate.

Smoking or consuming alcohol before taking measurements may result in a different heart rate from the normal one.

Do not talk, yawn, or breathe deeply while taking heart rate measurements. Doing so may lead to inaccuracy.

• The accuracy of the heart rate sensor may be affected by users’ movements, personal physiology, and the measuring conditions and surroundings.

• If the heart rate sensor is not working, then please check the Gear’s position on your wrist and make sure that nothing is obstructing the sensor.

If the heart rate sensor continues to have the same problem, please visit a Samsung Service Centre.
