Connecting the HDMI port on computer directly to the HDMI port on
TV outputs images, but not sound (R70, X65, and X22).

[Symptom]

Most TVs that support HDMI port is unable to decode SPDIF sound (Samsung TV: not supported, Maker B: supported in some models).

[Troubleshooting]

  1. If there is no home theater or TV decodable SPDIF (5.1ch):

2ch is only supported by the TV.

  2. If there is a home theater or a TV with HDMI (OUT) port :
  •  5.1ch or higher is available in a home theater model HT-TXQ120 with HDMI.
    Note: Connection
Image Output : PC HDMI(OUT) -> Home Theater HDMI (IN) -> Home Theater HDMI (OUT)
    Sound Output : SPDIF
  • There is no trouble on the TV that supports the SPDIF decoding.
