What Does The Mode Function Do On My Plasma TV?

Last Update date : 2012.01.10

A mode is a preset group of picture settings - brightness, tint, contrast,  etc. - designed to give you the best video display given what you are watching or when your are watching. The Mode function lets you select a mode and apply that mode, with all of its picture settings, easily and quickly.

Most Samsung TVs have four factory preset modes, Dynamic, Movie, Standard, and Custom. The Dynamic mode has settings that optimize the video display for daylight viewing or for viewing when there is bright light in the room. The Movie mode has settings that optimize the video display for movie watching. The Standard mode has settings that optimize the video display for every day viewing in regular light. Standard Mode lets you adjust individual attributes such as brightness, tint, and contrast to your liking. The TV retains the settings you choose, and, when you select the Custom mode, applies those settings to the picture you're watching.
