How Can I Improve The Reception On My Plasma TV?

 There are three procedures to improve the reception on your Plasma TV:

•  The Fine Tune function

•  The Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) function

•  The Digital Signal Strength function

The Fine Tune function can improve over-the-air analog reception. The LNA function can improve over-the-air or cable analog reception. The Digital Signal Strength function can help you improve over-the-air digital reception. All the functions are discussed below.

Using the Fine Tune Function

To use the Fine Tune function, follow these steps:

1.  Turn on your TV.

2.  Set your TV to the station you for which you want to improve reception.

3.  Press the Menu button on your remote. The Main menu appears.

4.  Press the Up or Down arrow button on your remote to select Channel, and then press the Enter button. The Channel menu appears.

5.  Press the Up or Down arrow button on your remote to select Fine Tune, and then press the Enter button. The Fine Tune screen appears.

6.  Press the Left or Right arrow button on your remote to adjust the fine tuning.

7.  To store the fine tuning setting to your TV's memory, press the Enter button on your remote.

8.  To reset the fine tuning to zero, press the Down button on your remote to select Reset, and then press the Enter button.

9.  Press the Exit button to exit.

Notes:

•  Only analog TV channels can be fine tuned.

•  A “*” will appear next to the name of fine-tuned channels.

Using the LNA (Low Noise Amplifier) Function

To use the LNA function, follow these steps:

1.  Turn on your TV.

2.  Press the Menu button on your remote control. The Main menu appears.

3.  Press the Up or Down arrow button on your remote to select Channel, and then press the Enter button.

4.  Press the Up or Down arrow button on your remote to select LNA, and then press the Enter button.

5.  Press the Up or Down arrow button on your remote to set LNA On, and then press the Enter button.

6.  Press the Exit button to exit.

Notes:

•  LNA functions only when antenna is set to AIR or CABLE.

•  If the picture is noisy with the LNA set to On, select Off.

•  The LNA setting must be made separately for each channel.

Using the Digital Signal Strength Function

To use the Digital Signal Strength function, follow these steps:

1.  Turn on your TV.

2.  Press the menu button on your remote. The Main menu appears.

3.  Press the Up or Down arrow button on your remote to select Channel, and then press the Enter button. The Channel menu appears.

4.  Press the Up or Down arrow button on your remote to select Signal Strength, and then press the Enter button. The Signal Strength screen appears. The stronger the digital signal, the more bars to the right are darkened.

5.  To increase the digital signal strength if it is weak, physically adjust your antenna.

6.  Continue to adjust your antenna until you find the position with the strongest digital signal.

7.  Press the Exit button to exit.

Note: The No Signal message may appear on your screen depending on the broadcasting station conditions, even though the Signal Strength screen indicates your TV is receiving a signal.

Important: The procedures above work for most Samsung Plasma TVs. They may not work for yours. For exact instructions for using the Fine Tune or Signal Strength functions, see your user's manual.

 

 

Note: The instructions above work for many Samsung LCD TVs. However, your TV might be different. For exact instructions, see your user's manual. Look for a section titled Melody or something similar. Also, on some LCD TVs, you can not turn off the melody.
