My Screen Shows A Blue (Red, Green) TInt On Images That Should Be White.

Last Update date : 2012.01.10

On most current Samsung TVs (HP-T and SP-T series Plasma TVs, HL-T series DLP TVs, and LN-T series LCD TVs), you should be able to adjust white images so that they are truly white, and not tinted blue, red, or green.

There are two functions on current Samsung TVs that give you the ability to adjust the tint of white images:

•  The White Balance (Color Temperature) function

•  The My Color Control function

Both are discussed below.

The White Balance Function

The White Balance function lets you adjust the color temperature - that is, the amount and intensity of blue, green, or red tint in a picture - for more natural picture colors.

To adjust the White Balance, follow these steps:

1.  Press the Menu button on your remote. The Main menu appears.

2.  Press the Up or Down arrow button on your remote to select Picture. The Picture menu appears.

3.  Press the Up or Down arrow button on your remote to select Detailed Settings. The Detailed Settings menu appears.

4.  Press the Up or Down arrow button on your remote to select White Balance, and then press Enter.

5.  To adjust for a blue tint (for example), use the Up or Down arrow button to select B-Offset and/or B-Gain, and then press Enter. The Menu disappears and a slider appears at the bottom of the screen.

6.  Press the Left or Right arrow button to adjust the slider value. When done, press Enter.

7.  Press the Menu button to exit.

Note: To reset the White Balance to the factory default, select Reset on the White Balance menu, and then press Enter.

The My Color Control Function

The My Color Control function lets you adjust the underlying tint of the entire picture.

To Adjust the My Color Control function, follow these steps:

1.  Press the Menu button on your remote. The Main menu appears.

2.  Press the Up or Down arrow button on your remote to select Picture. The Picture menu appears.

3.  Press the Up or Down arrow button on your remote to select Detailed Settings. The Detailed Settings menu appears.

4.  Press the Up or Down arrow button on your remote to select My Color Control, and then press Enter. The My Color Control Menu appears.

5.  To adjust for the blue tint (for example), use the Up or Down arrow button to select Blue, and then press Enter. The Menu disappears and a slider appears at the bottom of the screen.

6.  Press the Left or Right arrow button to adjust the slider value. When done, press Enter.

7.  Press the Menu button to exit.

Note: To reset My Color Control to the factory default, select Reset on the My Color Control menu, and then press Enter.
