[Samsung Recovery Solution III] The drive letter in the backup/restoration list differs from the actual drive letter. How can I do?

Last Update date : 2015.09.22

The letter of the drive that is used to backup using Samsung Recovery Solution differs from the drive letter in the backup/restoration list.

For a Complete Backup, the actual backup operation is performed after booting up the computer in restoration mode. Restoration mode runs under the Windows PE (Preinstallation Environment) operating system.

In Windows PE, the drive letter of the drive may differ unlike in Windows XP or Vista. Since the backup/restoration list is created in Windows PE and the user sees the drive letter in Windows XP or Vista, the drive letter may differ.

This may occur when a drive is recognized by different operating systems. Even if the drive letter is different, you can identify the drive by the volume name; therefore confirm the drive that includes the actual backup folder name (Samsung Recovery folder).

※ Note

This problem may occur in models where Samsung Recovery Solution III is installed.
