Creating the Ultimate Lean Back Experience
In 2012, Samsung demonstrated leadership across its Flagship categories, including the TV market. The company retained its leadership with a 30% market share in the fast growing Panel TV market in India. Following this success, Samsung is opening a new world of possibilities in home entertainment this year.
Leading its charge to deliver the ultimate lean back experience to consumers in the region, Samsung launched its flagship F8000 LED TV, the first Samsung television to feature a quad-core processor. Available in sizes up to 65-inches, the F8000 features an ultra-thin profile, a quarter-inch thick bezel and a wave inspired Arc stand that makes the TV look as if it is simply floating in the air.
Samsung also introduced its first 85-inch Ultra High Definition TV (UHD TV), the 85S9. The 85S9’s stunning Timeless Gallery design sets a new standard for TV craftsmanship, with the TV appearing to float within its frame and juxtaposing its classic minimalism with the striking 85-inch display.
The design is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. The 85S9 includes Samsung’s “One Connect” feature, which eliminates cable clutter by requiring only one cable to connect to the TV and creates a perfect “Clean Back” look.
The 85S9 also includes Samsung’s proprietary up-scaling engine which can up-convert HD or Full-HD to UHD-level picture quality by restoring detail information to create greater precision for real-life picture quality. In addition, Samsung is addressing the conflicting UHD content standards in the industry today to ease purchasing concerns and to ensure that users will be able to view UHD content for years to come.
Samsung is also the first TV brand to offer support for the new high compression video codec, HEVC, which delivers higher streaming video quality over lower bandwidth so content will consistently look remarkable. Finally, to deliver an audio performance to match the screen excellence of this year’s new TVs, Samsung introduced the HT-F9750W.
The HT-F9750W is Samsung’s flagship 7.1 channel home theatre system and the perfect companion to the 2013 Smart TVs. The system features a 1,330-watt sound system for unprecedented sound quality and exceptional viewing experience, and it is powered by Samsung’s Gallium Nitride amplifier and vacuum tube amplifier to create a pure, natural sound.
Introducing the Next Evolution in Televisions
Samsung’s 2013 Smart TVs provide a new world of possibilities in search, navigation and content discovery. Samsung has completely redesigned its new Smart Hub, which intelligently organises a viewer’s content into clear, dynamic menu panels to provide a simple, more intuitive way to discover and experience television. The three panels include: Apps; Photos, Videos & Music; and Social. It is further augmented with Samsung’s enhanced motion control capabilities, which make navigating Smart Hub’s three panels convenient and fun with a simple flip motion.
This advanced TV user experience has been expanded to smartphones and tablets, thanks to Samsung’s leadership in connectivity. Viewers can use their devices as a remote control or simultaneously enjoy two different pieces of content from a TV or Blu-ray player on a second screen. They can also mirror their Smart TV content on a tablet to take it with them around the home.
Helping consumers prepare for the future, Samsung is delivering on its promise of bringing evolutionary capabilities to its TVs with the introduction of its Evolution Kit. By simply adding the Evolution Kit to a Samsung Smart TV, users can have immediate access to the newest Samsung Smart TV offerings, including quad-core CPU power and the newly updated Smart Hub.
Finally, developed for the Southwest Asian market, Samsung has created the 46” 5100 TV, which comes equipped with a Digital Hub that allows consumers to share contents among friends and family on the TV. With the Easy Share feature, users can seamlessly share digital contents between devices via two USB ports eliminating the need for a PC and also keep their data on a portable hard drive that fits in an integrated hard disk holder behind the television.
