[Windows 8] Restoring Your Computer System.

System Restore is one of the major features in Windows 8 and can return your

settings back to the desired restore point when your computer has a problem.

You'll have to back up your important data before starting a recovery to prevent

them from being removed.

     Creating a System Restore Point

On the Windows 8 Start Screen, click with right mouse button on empty space.

 

.

Choose 'All Apps' in the bottom right corner of the screen.

 

.

Click 'Control Panel' in the 'Windows System' folder.

 

.

Edit ‘View by’ settings under Control Panel to 'Category'.

 

.

Click 'System and Security’.

 

.

Click ‘System protection’, and click ‘Create’ button.

 

.

Select a 'Restore point’, and click ‘Create’ button.

 

.

Click ‘Close’ button to complete creating a system restore point.

     Restoring Your Computer System

Click 'Control Panel' in the 'Windows System' folder.

Edit ‘View by’ settings under Control Panel to 'Category'.

Click 'System and Security’.

Click ‘System protection’ then click ‘System Restore’ button.

If 'System Restore' button is disabled, click 'Configure' button to choose

'Turn on system protection' option.

In ‘Restore system files and settings’ pane, click 'Next' button.

 

.

 

Choose the restore point that you want your system to be restored,

and then click 'Next' button.

 

.

Make sure this is the disk you want to restore and click 'Next' button.

 

.

 

Review all the settings you have made in System Restore before clicking

'Finish' button.

 

.

 

‘Once started, System Restore cannot be interrupted. Do you want to continue?’

When this warning dialog box is displayed, click 'Yes' button.

 

.

 

When a 'System Restore completed' message appears once again

after system reboot, click 'Close' to exit the dialog box.
