Samsung launches world's first HDD-enabled 'Music' smartphone in Middle East
Samsung Electronics, the global digital technology innovator, today launched the world's first 3Gigabyte-HDD (hard disk drive) embedded music smartphone, the SGH-i300, in Middle East.
Based on Microsoft's Windows Mobile platform, the i300 is the first phone to include a fully 'Arabised' Windows OS (operating system), built especially for the Middle East market. The 3GB-HDD handset features a 'Plug & Play Files-to-go,' option which allows the handset to function as a removable hard disk drive. Businessmen and professionals can easily transfer files to and from their computers, as well as store and transfer files in any format conveniently.

Capable of storing up to 2,000 music files and featuring scroll-wheel navigation, the i300 handset enables users to easily search files. It is perfect for people with a passion for music as the device supports 3D-sound through its stereo speakers, also compatible with a stereo Bluetooth headset.

Featuring a 1.3 megapixel camera, the i300 supports external memory (TransFlash), which can be installed without the use of a CD through the phone's Easy Install function. Furthermore, the i300 smartphone is also the first to offer a full Arabic suite, comprising Qibla direction, Hijri calendar, text and audio recitation of the Holy Qur'an, Arabic to English (both ways) dictionary, Arabic dialer and localizer.
