| DNIe™ |
| Interest in TV picture
quality arose with conventional analog broadcasting,
but it has been intensified by the advent of HD
broadcasting and new kinds of display device. To
satisfy this interest, ceaseless technological research
and development have been pursed.
Samsung has perfected its own unique picture
technology, DNIe™. What distinguishes DNIe™
is that it uses its own algorithm to analyze any
kind of input signal (HD, SD, RF or DVD) and convert
it to an optimal output signal tailored to any
kind of display device (Flat CRT TV, Projection
TV, Plasma TV, LCD TV), guaranteeing a lifelike
picture every time.

| Digital
TV |
The analog method that has been used up to this
point, refers to transmitting the brightness of
light and loudness of sound as they are by expressing
as electric voltage.
Digital TV, on the other hand, means transmitting
via digital transmission method after digitally
processing everything, including video, audio, and
data.
Digital processing refers to conversion of an analog
signal, such as video, audio, and data, into a digital
signal composed of 0 and 1.This is accomplishedthrough
the use of highly advanced digital technology. A
converted signal is compressed, along with other
information, and transmitted via thedigital transmission
method. The transmitted signal is separated
into the original video and audio, and then< decompressed
(demultiplexing & decoding) at the receiver.
In other words, all information is converted into
numbers and then sent and received. |
