Mr. Yoon-Ho Ha took on the stewardship for Samsung Asia Pte Ltd in May 2008. Based in Singapore, Samsung Asia is the regional headquarters for all Samsung Electronics’ businesses in Southeast Asia and Oceania.
Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Ha served as the Senior Vice President of Display (Monitor business) Sales & Marketing Team in Visual Display Division. His 30-year career with Samsung has seen him managing a wide portfolio of products in different countries. Mr. Ha served as the Vice President in charge of the Regional Strategy Team responsible for devising marketing strategies for each of the world’s major regions. Some of the key positions held by Mr. Ha include President of Samsung Electronics Germany, Vice President of Samsung Electronics Italy and General Manager in charge of European colour TV sales.
Samsung Asia registered record sales of US$11.4 billion in 2007, a healthy 15 per cent increase from the previous year, and it is Mr. Ha’s priority to continue this growth momentum. The company has a staff strength of more than 7,000 in the region.
Mr. Ha graduated from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies as a Spanish major in 1978.
Mr Yoon Ki Heung has been appointed the new Managing Director of Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd.
Mr Yoon is no stranger to this region, having served as the Regional Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung Asia Pte Ltd in Singapore before assuming the position of Managing Director - Electronics Business Division of Samsung Asia in February 2006.
Prior to his new posting in Kuala Lumpur, he was responsible for the management and development of the division’s business and took charge of Samsung’s brand management in Asia.
He joined Samsung Electronics in 1986 and has over 20 years of global and regional experience, including his stints with the Home Appliances Business and Consumer Electronics Business in Europe and Korea apart from Singapore.
Mr Yoon graduated with a MBA from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
In recent years, Samsung has made significant inroads in Malaysia, attaining market leadership in several product categories, including LCD TVs and monitors, mobile phones, refrigerators and multi-function laser printers.
