Recycling Batteries Responsibly

  • The European Directive on Batteries and Accumulators aims to minimise the impact of batteries on the environment and encourage the recovery of the materials they contain. In the UK, regulations on the recycling of batteries and accumulators (rechargeable batteries) were Introduced in 2009. The Waste Batteries Regulations aim to significantly increase UK collection and recycling of used portable batteries from 3% in 2007 to 25% by 2012, rising to at least 45% in 2016.

  • The battery symbol on a product or on its packaging indicates that the product must not be disposed of with general household waste. Instead, it is the consumer’s responsibility to dispose of their waste batteries at a designated collection point so that they can be recycled. The separate collection and recycling of batteries at the time of disposal will help to conserve natural resources and ensure that they are recycled in a manner that protects human health and the environment. A comprehensive list of battery recycling centres can be obtained from: www.recycle-more.co.uk

  • All Samsung products that are subject to the Batteries Directive are compliant with the UK battery and accumulator Requirements. In accordance with national law, SAMSUNG Electronics (UK) Ltd is a member of an approved batteries producer compliance scheme. This scheme collects, treats and disposes of batteries on Samsung’s behalf.

Enjoy perfect lighting with Auto TTL flash

Enjoy perfect lighting with Auto TTL flash
Optimise your photographs with Auto TTL (through the lens) Flash. This feature basically ensures that the correct amount of light, through the exposure timing, is received on the film plane. This puts control back into the photographer, as it allows for elements such as aperture and shutter speeds to dictate the exposure and not the other way around.

Find your perfect shot with Manual Flash

The Samsung SEF42A Flash also provides the more confident photographers the option to manually set their flash settings. On the back-side of the flash, photographers can simply select the duration of the flash, whether it is 1/32, 1/16 etc, to match it to the specific environment. This allows for not only more creative shots, but also greater levels of accuracy and clarity in photography being taken in unusual environments. Sometime the automatic settings are not able to realise what lighting is required to capture the best shots.

Optional flash settings deliver more

Optional flash settings deliver more
To synchronise the lens with the flash, information can be passed between the two for greater results. Automatic Zoom, allows for the Flash to position the bulb according to the particular focal length of the lens. The flash can be manually set, from 28mm to 105mm, so that it is independent of the lens focal length. This is usually for creating specific lighting effects and is great for tailoring your photos to the specific environment.
