TERMS AND CONDITIONS


Duration
1. The SAMSUNG GALAXY GDA Contest will run from 18 December 2012 to 4 January 2013 ("Contest Period"). Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd ("Organiser") shall reserve the right to shorten or extend the Contest Period.
 
Eligibility
1. This Contest is open to all subscribers of prepaid and postpaid services of Celcom, Digi and/or Maxis who are residents of Malaysia, 18 years of age and above (as at 18 December 2012) except the employees (and their immediate families) of the Organiser, their affiliates and/or related companies, distributors, retailers, advertising and promotion agencies.
 
How To Participate
1. Purchase one unit of original participating SAMSUNG Galaxy (Smartphone or Tablet) from any SAMSUNG authorised dealer only during the Contest Period and retain the original receipt and warranty card (if applicable) as proof of purchase.
 
2. Request your phone dealer to register e-Warranty for your purchased product.
 
3. Send the SMS as follows:
a. Type (SAMSUNGGLXY)(IC/ Passport Number)(receipt amount RM00.00)(receipt date DDMMYY)(15-digit IMEI number)(name) and SMS to 32632. Example: SAMSUNGGLXY 881010012345 RM1999.00 281212 123456789012345 Kim Lee
b. Retain the original receipt with matching receipt date and receipt amount as proof of purchase.
c. Each day, the contest begins at 12.00am and ends at 11.59pm, Malaysian Time.
d. Participants will be charged 30 sen for each SMS received. The charges are in addition to the standard SMS fee charged by the participant’s mobile phone operator.
 
Prizes
1. There are two tiers to this contest:
a. There are 100 pairs of RM999 tickets and 100 pairs of RM688 tickets to be won.
b. All the qualified entries received within Contest Week (week 1, 2 and 3) will be divided by 56.5 to derive the winning serial numbers for the prizes. The winning serial number will be the closest, lower whole number that results after the stated division. For example, if the total correct entries received is 5,651, then the total will be divided by 56.5 to derive the winning serial number 100. Hence, qualified entries 100, 300, 500 and so forth will be selected as the First Prize winners (pair of RM999 tickets each) and qualified entries 200, 400, 600 and so forth will be selected as the Second Prize winners (pair of RM688 tickets each).
c. All the qualified entries received within Contest Week (week 4) will be divided by 32.5 to derive the winning serial numbers for the prizes. The winning serial number will be the closest, lower whole number that results after the stated division. For example, if the total correct entries received is 3,251, then the total will be divided by 32.5 to derive the winning serial number 100. Hence, qualified entries 100, 300, 500 and so forth will be selected as the First Prize winners (pair of RM999 tickets each) and qualified entries 200, 400, 600 and so forth will be selected as the Second Prize winners (pair of RM688 tickets each).
 
2. The Contest Weeks are stipulated as follows:
a. Week 1: 12.00am on Dec 18, 2012 to 11.59pm on Dec 22, 2012 (5 days)
b. Week 2: 12.00am on Dec 23, 2012 to 11.59pm on Dec 27, 2012 (5 days)
c. Week 3: 12.00am on Dec 28, 2012 to 11.59pm on Jan 1, 2013 (5 days)
d. Week 4: 12.00am on Jan 2, 2013 to 11.59pm on Jan 4, 2013 (3 days)
 
3. The eligible winners will be contacted via telephone. Should the first attempt to call the winner fail, i.e. no reply, telephone number not in service or no connection, etc, another three (3) attempts will be made within the next 24 hours of the first telephone call. Where such further attempts are unsuccessful, the Organiser reserves the right to select the next qualified participant e.g. where qualified 800th participant could not be contacted, qualified 799th participant will be contacted. The Organiser will not be held liable in the event the eligible winners cannot be contacted for whatever reasons.
 
4. The eligible winners will be required to answer a simple question correctly and submit a copy of the identity card (IC) or passport plus the original receipt with matching details as per the SMS submitted dated within the Contest Period within two (2) working days as proof of purchase in order to win. Proof of purchase submitted is subject to verification.
 
5. Each participant is entitled to win only one (1) Prize during the Contest Period.
 
6. All prizes must be claimed at participants’ own expense within 60 days after the Contest Period. All unclaimed prizes will be forfeited by the Organiser 60 days after the Contest Period.
 
7. In the event the Organiser organises a prize-giving ceremony at a venue designated by the Organiser, the winners are required to attend at their own expense to claim their prize. In the event the winner is not able to attend, the winner must nominate a representative to be present and accept the prize on his/her behalf. Failure to attend the prize giving ceremony may result in forfeiture of the prize(s).
 
8. The Organiser reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of similar value without prior notice. All prizes are not transferable, non-refundable and non-exchangeable for cash.

Liability and Responsibility
1. Winners shall assume full responsibility in case of any accident, damage or claim resulting from participation of this Contest and/or usage and/or Contest of their prizes.
 
2. All transportation, accommodation, personal costs and/or any other costs, fees and/or related expenses that are incurred to redeem the prize are the sole responsibility of the winners.
 
3. By participating in the Contest, each participant agrees to release and hold the Organiser and its employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives, parent companies affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with the Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the Prize, or travel to or from any gift-related activity, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
 
Rights of the Organiser
1. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to the Organiser and its agencies to use the winners’ names and/or photographs for purposes of publicity, advertising and/or trade without further compensation or notice.
 
2. The Organiser and the companies involved in this SMS Contest shall not be held liable in any way for delays, non-deliveries and/or interruptions of SMS messages sent and these companies shall not be held responsible for any unauthorised use of the mobile phone or subscriber’s account in conjunction with this Contest.
 
3. The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify the participant’s submission in the event that the Organiser has reasonable grounds for believing that a selected participant has violated any of these Terms.
 
4. In case of any dispute, the Organiser reserves the right to make the final decision.
 
Terms of Participation
1. By participating in this Contest, participants fully and unconditionally agree to and accept the official Rules and Regulations and decisions of the Organiser.
 
2. By entering, winners agree to grant the Organiser and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, licensees, directors, officers, agents, independent contractors and advertising/promotion agencies the use of his/her name, details submitted through the SMS, without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
 
3. The Organiser reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions without prior notice.
