[Galaxy Note8] The fingerprint reader on the back of the unit? Will this new location contribute to unintentional smudging of the camera lans?

Last Update date : 2017.09.05

Samsung have moved the fingerprint reader to the back to create the Galaxy Note8’s bezel-less* Infinity display and to optimize the design of the device. It’s similar design as the S8 but still little bit rearranged design.
To prevent and /or to reduce possibility of unintentional contamination of the camera lens due to fingerprint recognition, the Flash/HRM part was inserted between the camera and the fingerprint sensor and the distance between camera and fingerprint sensor is increased.

*Disclaimer: Bezel-less, full-frontal edge-to-edge screen.
