What is Blu-ray?
Blu-ray is an optical disc format designed to deliver high-definition video as well as games. They are often perceived as the next re-iteration of the DVD format but delivering Full HD picture quality and more in the same compact design as conventional DVDs.
Full High Definition Images
Due to capacity limitations, DVD discs are typically restricted to standard definition video images. Blu-rays come in full high definition 1080p video and digital audio and delivers pristine picture quality. Blu-ray discs can also support 3D meaning that 3D content can be viewed using the Blu-ray disc format.
Advanced Sound
The Blu-ray disc format also supports new surround sound formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio delivering a surround sound experience that is close to the original and the way the movie producers intended. The end result is a surround sound experience that perfectly matches the stunningly precise high definition images for a truly compelling experience from your favourite horrors to the classic indie films.
