The only area heated whilst cooking is the area with active magnetic field leaving the rest of the surface cool and easy to clean. Continuous surface with no dirt traps, and the controls are touch-sensitive, so there are no knobs to clean around.

Induction cooktop technology only heats the area that comes in contact with the magnetic or iron-content cookware, leaving the un-used portion of the element unheated. The cookware itself heats the food not the stove.
