If the door to your Samsung front loader washine machine has locked, or the machine is showing an Unbalanced Load (Ub) error, you'll need to Emergency Drain the machine to get it going again. This process also covers cleaning the debris filter in the machine - which is a good thing to do every 2 months or so to make sure the machine doesn't have to work too hard to drain the water out. for more detailde steps see Debris filter cleaning.

Follow the steps below on how to remove the water from a Samsung front loading washer.

Please Note: Water drained during a high-temperature wash or drying cycle is hot. Do not touch the water. This may result in burns or injury.

1 Turn the washer off and unplug the machine from the power supply at the wall
2 Grab a towel and two large, flat containers to collect the water and place them all near the filter cover on the bottom of the machine
3 Open the filter cover by using a coin or key.
4 Slowly pull the emergency drain tube out while keeping the drain cap closed. Then open the emergency drain cap by pulling it from the tube.

Please Note: There will be a lot of water - keep a second container handy to rotate out when filled

5 When the water has drained completely, grab a cloth or towel and unscrew the debris filter cap by turning it to the left (anti-clockwise). Wash any dirt or other material from the debris filter. Make sure the drain pump inside the debris filter is not blocked.
6 Reinsert the pump filter, and turn the knob clockwise or to the right, then Reinsert the emergency drain cap and the drain tube, and close the filter cover.

If you are unable to locate the filter panel or this isn't the right description for your machine, please download the user manual that is specific to your machine.
