Galaxy Note 3: How do I create a portable WiFi Hotspot?

Learn to create a Portable WiFi Hotspot on your Galaxy Note 3. The steps below are applicable to Android 5.0:

 

Note: Before proceeding with the following steps, make sure that the mobile data is enabled and working on your device for the Portable Hotspot to work.

 

Step 1: From your Home screen, tap on Apps.

Step 2: On Apps page, tap on Settings.

Step 3: Go to Connections tab, tap on Tethering and Mobile hotspot.

Step 4: Slide Mobile hotspot button to the right (or tap on it) to enable it. Tap on Mobile hotspot slider and follow the on-screen instructions to set it up.

 

Note: When the slider button turns green, it means it is already enabled.

Step 5: Once mobile hotspot is enabled, instructions on how to connect other devices to the hotspot will be shown.

Note: To change the Mobile Hotspot Name (Network SSID) and password press the menu menu button on the phone, then select Configure.
