Turning the TV OFF from the remote will set it into Standby mode.

The Standby light remains illuminated only to show that set is in the Standby mode which signifies that power is still coming from the power socket.

To turn your TV OFF entirely, the unit must be unplugged (or switched off) from the power socket.

Please note that standby power consumption on modern sets it very low.

See some samples under:

• UA55ES6800 55” Series 6 Slim LED TV = under 0.1 watts (on standby)
• PS51E550 51" Series 5 Plasma TV = under 0.3 watts (on standby).
