The Camera’s LCD Screen has black spots

If your camera’s LCD display has black spots, please follow these steps:

 
1. Power off the camera.
2. Remove your battery from your camera. If you have a memory card inside the camera, remove that as well.
3. Re-insert the battery into the camera, leaving the memory card out of the camera.
4. Power back on the camera and take a picture without the memory card installed.
5. If the LCD screen still displays black spots, the problem may be caused by a dirty lens. Go to How to Clean Your Camera Lens below.

 
How to Clean Your Camera Lens

 
When cleaning the lens on your camera, use either a lens cleaning cloth or lens cleaning tissues and lens cleaning fluid or water.

 
To clean your camera lens, follow these steps:

 
1. Power on your camera. The lens pops out and opens.
2. Add a few drops of lens cleaning fluid or water to a lens cleaning cloth or lens cleaning tissue.
Note: Do not use facial tissues. Facial tissues have a rough texture and will scratch your lens.
3. Gently rub the dampened cloth or tissue on the lens, moving counter clockwise.
4. With a dry lens cleaning cloth or tissue, gently dry the damp areas of the lens.
5. Repeat until the lens is clean.


Note: You should be able to purchase lens cleaning fluid, lens cleaning cloths, and lens cleaning tissues at most electronics and camera stores.

 
If the black spots are still visible on the LCD screen, your camera is missing pixels and needs to be serviced. In that case please call Samsung customer care to find the nearest service centre.
If your camera’s LCD screen no longer has black spots, take a picture. If the picture comes out with black spots, make sure your camera lens is clean. If your camera lens is clean and the spots continue to appear in your pictures, the lens is damaged internally and needs to be serviced.
