Must I Install The Driver Software?

Last Update date : 2015.11.03

Although you can install the software drivers that came with your Samsung LCD monitor, it isn't necessary. The Plug and Play drivers provided in Windows Vista, XP, 2000, ME, or 98 work just as well.

The only drawback is that you won't see the name of your monitor (for example, SyncMaster171v) in the Device Manager under Monitor.  Instead, you will see something along the lines of Plug and Play Monitor.

Note: There are a number of programs, such as MagicTune, on the installation disk of most Samsung LCD monitors that you may want to install, but their installation is not required. Also, they will work whether you install the drivers or not

Important 1: If you want to install the Samsung drivers and the programs on the installation disk do not work, contact Samsung Customer Care at 1-800-10Samsung (1-800-10726-7864) or 1-800-87267864  other lines 422-2111 for assistance. Have the model  and serial number of your monitor on hand when you call.

Important 2: If you want the drivers and don't have them, you can download the drivers for most Samsung monitors from our website @ http://www.samsung.com/ph/support/category/pcperipheralsprinter/pcmonitor/

Macs

There are no drivers necessary for Macs.  Macs have preset timing and resolution modes, subsequently, Samsung does not have nor provide monitor drivers for Macs.
