      With a unique USI-T interface technology, Samsung Panel DDI supports 10-bit color reproduction with faster speeds compared to a conventional mini-LVDS interface. It also supports a UHD display in a single chip without any add-ons, whereas conventional models require more than one solution.

      Samsung USI-T technology enhances display performance by processing massive amounts of graphics data as an identical packet format, regardless of the color depth (6/8/10/12 bit), at faster speeds than conventional mini-LVDS models.

      Leveraging USI-T technology that is simplified in format, Samsung Panel DDI uses less space on the PCB, which leaves extra space for additional components.

      Compared to conventional mini-LVDS technology, Samsung USI-T technology uses 30-40% less board space because it uses less lines between DDI and TCON. These savings are made possible by our point-to-point data processing technology.

      Samsung TCON is manufactured with increased power savings in mind. To satisfy increasing screen resolutions, multiple TCONs are required. Hence, power saving in one TCON can result in large energy savings in the overall end-product.

      As a result of Samsung’s 28nm process technology and decreased logic voltage, our TCON consumes roughly 20% less power than conventional TCONs built with mainstream 45nm process technology.

      Through Samsung’s low-heat generation technology in Panel DDI, manufacturers can assure longer durability of neighboring components. With less concerns on configuration limits due to overheating, panels can be more flexibly designed to suit various needs.

      Low-heat generating technology also enables a wider range of voltages. For example, laptops can use a low voltage to minimize power consumption and TVs can use a high voltage for faster response times.

      Samsung’s LTCOF with chasis contact technology gives Panel DDI the ability to lower the temperature by 30-35%, which leads to 20-30% lower heat generation than that of conventional products.
