Mr. Yoon-Ho Ha took on the stewardship for Samsung Asia Pte Ltd in May 2008. Based in Singapore, Samsung Asia is the regional headquarters for all Samsung Electronics’ businesses in Southeast Asia and Oceania.
Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Ha served as the Senior Vice President of Display (Monitor business) Sales & Marketing Team in Visual Display Division. His 30-year career with Samsung has seen him managing a wide portfolio of products in different countries. Mr. Ha served as the Vice President in charge of the Regional Strategy Team responsible for devising marketing strategies for each of the world’s major regions. Some of the key positions held by Mr. Ha include President of Samsung Electronics Germany, Vice President of Samsung Electronics Italy and General Manager in charge of European colour TV sales.
Samsung Asia registered record sales of US$11.4 billion in 2007, a healthy 15 per cent increase from the previous year, and it is Mr. Ha’s priority to continue this growth momentum. The company has a staff strength of more than 7,000 in the region.
Mr. Ha graduated from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies as a Spanish major in 1978.
Mr. Sung-Hyun Moon officially took up his current appointment as the Managing Director of Singapore, Samsung Asia Pte Ltd, on 1 February 2009. In this role, he is responsible for the management and development of the division’s business and also in charge of the brand management of Samsung Asia in Singapore.
A stalwart of Samsung, Mr. Moon’s career began in 1987 and spans across Seoul to Russia. He has close to 20 years of global and regional experience, the most recent being the Head of Marketing Strategy overseeing domestic and overseas sales and marketing for Samsung’s Digital Appliance business, as well as being heavily involved in managing retail sales for the Korean domestic market. Mr. Moon also served a stint in Russia from 1997 to 2004, taking charge of the marketing of Samsung’s Home Appliances and Consumer Electronics businesses in that market.
Mr. Moon has an MBA from Touro International University in California, United States and a Bachelor of Marketing degree from Korea University, Seoul, Korea.
