Singapore, 6 February 2013 – Samsung is collaborating with The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) in Singapore to reward its customers with a partnership to place Samsung TecTiles, or postage stamp sized Near Field Communications (NFC) stickers, in its 51 outlets in Singapore.
In the first business implementation of TecTiles in Southeast Asia, CBTL customers will be able to enjoy a free drink upsize in an exclusive marketing campaign running from 8 February to 7 March 2013. To enjoy this promotion, CBTL customers only need to tap their NFC-enabled Samsung GALAXY S III or GALAXY Note II LTE to a Samsung TecTile at the CBTL store and ‘Like’ the CBTL Facebook Page for an instant drink upsize redemption.
“With the largest range of NFC-enabled Android devices in Singapore and the wide availability of TecTiles, Samsung is supporting both retailers and consumers to improve the way mobile devices are used for everyday tasks,” said Irene Ng, Vice President of Marketing, Samsung Asia Pte Ltd. “Retail businesses like The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf can transform how they engage with customers with diverse uses of Samsung TecTiles that realise the potential of NFC technology.”
Samsung TecTiles can be programmed to automate and speed up commonly used smartphone functions – instead of multiple taps and scrolling through pages, all it takes is one simple tap on an NFC-enabled smartphone to a TecTile. For example, retailers can put up TecTiles to enable consumers to check-in on Facebook or foursquare, connect to Wi-Fi, or download content the moment they enter the store.
“The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is proud to be pioneering the use of Samsung TecTiles to transform our engagement with customers. When they step into our store, they can seamlessly tap their Samsung smartphones to a TecTile to ‘Like’ our Facebook Page and get a free drink upsize,” said Mr Alvin Goo, General Manager of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Pte Ltd. “We are dedicated to offering our customers the best – whether a coffee or service – and are excited to be working with Samsung on this innovative co-marketing campaign to provide a more integrated customer experience.”
Consumers can use Samsung TecTiles to automate everyday functions of a smartphone including silencing the phone when entering a meeting, setting an alarm, and dimming the smartphone display when going to bed.
Samsung TecTiles are easy to program with the latest Samsung NFC-enabled smartphones, such as the GALAXY S III and GALAXY Note II LTE, and the Samsung TecTiles app is available for free download from Samsung Apps or Google Play. Samsung TecTiles are available at most Samsung retailers at an RRP of SGD 28 for a pack of five TecTiles.
