SSD Explained
SSD is an acronym for "solid state drive," but more importantly, it’s used by Samsung to ensure that its camcorders never bungle a take. Unlike traditional hard disk drives (HDD), which magnetically record images and sounds through a system of bulky moving parts, SSDs consolidate that function into a single unit—no moving parts—that captures data electronically. They’re seven times smaller and twelve times lighter than conventional HDDs.

With four times the repeat, writing and erasing ability of HDD, the SSD is actually designed to last more than a hundred years. And since it’s available in versions that pack up to 64 gigabytes of flash memory, it provides enough capacity for anything you dream of shooting. Quite simply, SSD is one of the best technologies available today.
