Recycling Batteries Responsibly

  • The European Directive on Batteries and Accumulators aims to minimise the impact of batteries on the environment and encourage the recovery of the materials they contain. In the UK, regulations on the recycling of batteries and accumulators (rechargeable batteries) were Introduced in 2009. The Waste Batteries Regulations aim to significantly increase UK collection and recycling of used portable batteries from 3% in 2007 to 25% by 2012, rising to at least 45% in 2016.

  • The battery symbol on a product or on its packaging indicates that the product must not be disposed of with general household waste. Instead, it is the consumer’s responsibility to dispose of their waste batteries at a designated collection point so that they can be recycled. The separate collection and recycling of batteries at the time of dispo sal will help to conserve natural resources and ensure that they are recycled in a manner that protects human health and the environment. A comprehensive list of battery recycling centres can be obtained from: www.recycle-more.co.uk

  • All Samsung products that are subject to the Batteries Directive are compliant with the UK battery and accumulator Requirements. In accordance with national law, SAMSUNG Electronics (UK) Ltd is a member of an approved batteries producer compliance scheme. This scheme collects, treats and disposes of batteries on Samsung’s behalf.

Just a basic bog standard run of the mill phone!!!

This is just a basic bog standard run of the mill phone that is being charged at a premium price tag! It is full of pointless apps that 99% of will never be used.

it has no games installed, the calculator is the most basic you will ever see on a modern "smart" phone, so anything more than basic +, -, x, ÷, and you're out of luck! The battery does run down very quickly and if you mess about with the useless apps or use the radio on it, it drains like water running over a cliff! I read numerous reviews before I chose this model as I wanted a phone with a reasonably good camera that had a flash on, and I can honestly say that all of the reviews I read were very misleading as this phone is a very big disappointment which is definitely over priced. Depending on the area you live in the signal will be rather poor, I get between 0-1 bar, 2 if I'm very lucky! The camera isn't at all what I was expecting from a company like this manufacturer, so far all of the photo's I have taken have been very grainy more like a 0.3mp camera, and considering it's supposed to be a 5 mega pixel camera it is yet to delivery anything even close that sort of quality! The design has quite a major flaw too, in that the screen is very vulnerable and will be prone to damage easily, so you'd need a protective case for it, shame the manufacturer didn't think of this really, and issue one as standard considering the price. Also make sure you check the box contents, as mine had the headset/headphones missing and I had to contact the manufacturer myself despite where my phone was purchased! On the plus side though, It's slim, well balanced and looks quite stylish.

Galaxy Ace 3

Over all the phone is reasonable good, Google maps & navigate are useful, but in satellite view very dark. also the navigate function always has North to the top of the screen unlike most other Sat-nav's For my use there are a lot of surplus apps all ready on the phone, that I needed to delete.

The Ace 3 seems lacking in it's setting's not very customizable very few settings to tweak. Some actions require you to just tap the icon others you have to swipe, difficult to get used to knowing which is which, not like other touchscreen software. Poor at keeping a good signal strength, seems to just drop out for no reason. having the antenna in the bottom of the phone where you hold it is a poor design, even the instructions tell you avoid covering it but you have to hold a phone, every one holds them by the bottom half Battery life is dreadful, a few demanding applications or a secession of video usage or gaming drag it down very quickly, you almost have to charge it daily. If you like get one but buy a car charger as well, I wish I had bought an i-phone.

Does Everything You Need it To

I previously had the Ace & liked everything about it except for the lack of internal memory. Looked at the spec for this & decided it was just what Iwanted and more.

Very pleased with the speed & performance & the clarity of the screen. The only problem I had was obtaining a case / cover to fit, but after a little homework, this was overcome.
